07.00 let’s hope this diverts around us today! Yesterday afternoon as you are probably aware also was, let’s say, very wet!!
Anyway, last day, most are up and awake at least! Breakfast is at 8.15 today, nice late one for them, but early hunger pains already for me, more so as it’s bacon this morning! And possibly some porridge and honey too! 🐷
09.30 is……
PGL's All Aboard activity, an adventurous and challenging experience….and somewhat scary! 😬
Participants climb a ‘pole’ to reach a very small platform to reach a perch where they are the encouraged to stand ‘Titanic’ style with their arms outstretched!!!
All Aboard is not only physically challenging but also promote personal growth, teamwork, and facing fears.
Hopefully the rain will hold off for this activity
and…..
Canoeing on the lake, which typically involves participants paddling canoes to explore the water 😬, not just paddling about but the kids also play on-water activities and games, develop teamwork, as well as enjoying the serene surroundings. Participants are typically given basic instruction on paddling techniques and safety measures. This activity is not only a fun recreational experience but also a great way to connect with nature and learn valuable outdoor skills.
14.00. Our last 2 activities for this week🥲 (still the disco tonight!)
PGL's rock climbing activity is a popular adventure experience.
As always, before the eager children begin climbing, they receive a safety briefing. This includes instructions on how to use the necessary equipment, such as harnesses, helmets, and ropes, as well as safety protocols.
The children are provided with the essential climbing gear, including helmets, harnesses and carabiners. These are used to ensure both safety and proper technique.
PGL’s artificial climbing walls are designed to replicate the experience of outdoor rock climbing. Similiar to the ones at school, but vertical and about 10 times the size! These walls can vary in difficulty levels, allowing climbers of all skill levels to participate.
Participants are taught fundamental rock climbing skills, such as how to properly belay (secure the rope for a climber) and various climbing techniques, including holds, footwork, and body positioning.
The last day of getting ready and leaving a PGL activity centre involves several steps to ensure a smooth departure for participants and their groups. Here's a general outline of what typically happens on the final morning:
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
