Rugby Coaching
Today, (24/09/24), the Year 3 and Year 4 students kicked off a new unit focused on tag rugby as part of their Physical Education (PE) curriculum. This term, the school has integrated rugby into their sports programme to give the children an introduction to the game. To make the experience even more engaging, Gary, a professional rugby coach from the Gravesend Rugby Football Club, visited the school to provide expert instruction. He focused on teaching the children the basics of Tag Rugby, a non-contact version of the sport. This form of rugby is ideal for younger players, as it introduces them to essential skills like teamwork, passing, and agility without the physicality of full-contact rugby. The session allowed the children to not only develop their rugby skills but also enjoy being active in a fun and safe environment.
